Stainless Steel Wire Rod
Wire rod is a rolled steel product, manufactured from Steel Billets (semi-finished steel) with a rounded shape.
At RSPL, we manufacture Stainless Steel wire rods of all grades of 200 series, 300 Series and 400 series ranging of 5.5 mm dia to 14.00 mm. Stainless steel is a low-cost and corrosion-resistant material with a high level of durability. It is ideal for both Industrial and marine applications. Not only is it durable and long-lasting with a perfect surface finish, but it also has excellent strength.
The S.S. wire, so produced by the company, is further drawn into Bright bars wires, fasteners having various diameter and other industrial application.
Stainless Steel Wire Rods are increasingly present in household uses, interior decoration, automobile, aerospace, and medical applications which rely on their corrosion resistance, durability, and mechanical properties.
Benefits of Stainless Steel
- Easy to clean: As it is one of the most hygienic materials amongst the metal and alloys. It doesn’t support the growth of micro-organisms and is easy to clean and sterilize, hence is low maintenance.
- Corrosion resistance: Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion. This is why stainless steel applications extend to outdoor as well as indoor applications. These days, the stainless steel products are replacing the products of ordinary Mild Steel Products. This property of stainless steel comes from the addition of chromium to the metal, which when exposed to oxygen, creates a fine film over the steel to protect it.
- Recyclable: Most of the stainless steel is made from recycled steel, thus is a green product and important to make our planet cleaner. Further, the quality of Stainless Steel does not deteriorate once the metal is recycled, thus, it can be reuse as many times as we can and which ultimately benefit the environment.
- Strength: A fundamental property of stainless steel is its strength. It remains incredibly strong at very high or low temperatures, making it a highly sought after metal for demand applications like aviation.
- Aesthetics: Apart from the Strength, the shine of the metal makes it more attractive and impressive. It also looks decent when used in architecture. It adds a sleek and contemporary look to classic and modern spaces, without compromising on functionality.
Application
There are a variety of applications for stainless steel wire rods, such as aviation, industrial, engineering etc. These wire rods can be used in cold drawing, metal wiring, binding, fastener applications and to make stainless steel wire mesh. Thus, the main application of the Stainless Steel wire rods are as under:
